A good habit to get into is to look at your website every once in a while through the eyes of your prospective customer.
Even better is to get aquantence to do it for you. I wouldn’t advise a family member as they’ll always tell you that your website looks great (even when it doesn’t). Ask them to report back to you how easy they found the information they needed, how well the site performed in terms of download time, any errors they found and what improvements you could make.
By doing this you can easily pcik up broken links, bugs, simple errors, typos, broswer display issues and all maner of other random issues that you may be unaware of. The best thing is - it’s free! But can have a major impact on your conversion rate by tweaking simple issues that you haven’t or can’t spot as you’re looking at your site all day long.
So today make a point of visiting your site and trying to look at it through the eyes of your customers, or get a friend to do it and buy them a beer for their troubles!
